FATES™ Verta Bio-Foam contains several of Evoco’s unique materials, including a high-performance bio-material midsole composed of up to 85% bio-content and 81% bio-carbon content. Its production generates significantly less CO2e emissions than conventional, petroleum-derived foam (up to 70% less according to a third-party verified LCA). The soles are made with Evoco’s innovative Bio-TPU technology, which has wide-ranging future applications across hard-plastic devices or components.
Plants can replace fossil-based raw materials to tackle the problem of high greenhouse gas emissions in various applications in the advanced materials and durable goods industry. Evoco and its brand partners have already successfully diverted over 3.8 million CO2eq kg of greenhouse gas emissions through the adoption of FATES™ Bio-Foam materials.
Evoco actively sources biomaterials from suppliers who practice regenerative farming. Regenerative farming can help improve soil health, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration, contributing to overall positive sustainability. Evoco’s FATES™ Bio-Foam materials biodegrade up to 65% within 120 days, according to the ASTM D5338 standard.
