Seringô* is an Amazon-based social enterprise creating sustainable footwear using Amazonian materials, such as Marajó (an island in the Brazilian state of Pará) rubber and açaí seed fibre. The raw materials used in the production of Seringô footwear come from renewable sources, such as natural rubber from native rubber trees, micronized açaí seeds, fabrics made from Amazonian malva fibre and organic cotton, latex foam, and natural additives like vegetable oils and resins used in the softening and composition of the rubber. No water is used in the processing of natural rubber. At the factory, energy is supplied by photovoltaic panels, and the water used comes from rainwater harvesting. The natural rubber is harvested by riverine communities, ensuring a fair income for the families who, in turn, protect the forest that sustains them. Supporting local communities through employment and the responsible use of natural resources from the region.
The Lynx Leap platform provides Seringô with a high level of transparency regarding the materials used in its products, aligning with the requirements of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) set by the European Union for the textile and footwear sectors. Through automated identification processes based on the ISO 9001 standard, the raw materials used in each production batch are precisely monitored, ensuring regulatory compliance and also supporting the implementation of continuous improvement policies in industrial processes. Each product is identified with a unique and secure seal provided by SICPA, a global leader in authentication technologies. Besides guaranteeing the authenticity of the items sold, this identification creates opportunities to develop new channels of interaction with consumers, promoting transparency and strengthening the brand.
